So how does it all work?

How it works

Close-up of MRI brain scans with medical details displayed in white text, showing multiple cross-sectional images of the brain in shades of blue and black.

The basics of the process

MRI scans are simple and completely non-invasive. You’ll lie on a comfortable table that moves gently into the scanner, which uses magnets and radio waves to capture detailed images of your body. The scan is painless, and our team will stay in contact with you the whole time to make sure you feel at ease.

Once your scan is complete, highly skilled radiologists review and interpret the images in detail to identify any abnormalities or areas of concern. A comprehensive report is then sent to your referring clinician, who will discuss the results and next steps with you.

How can you book an MRI?

Consultant referral

The most comprehensive method of referring is seeking expert consultant care for examination prior to imaging referral.  Your doctor will make the referral directly to our imaging facility and our team will contact you shortly afterwards to arrange your appointment.

Your GP

Yes, our facility has removed the barrier to access. Previously, in a majority of cases GP’s could not refer to the hospital for public or private MRI imaging services. We are very proud of our success in speeding up diagnosis time.

Other healthcare professionals

Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths and other healthcare professional - as with your GP, you can now directly access MRI imaging services through Jersey’s community experts.
